Lakeside cabins on Planting Ground Lake — quiet mornings, golden sunsets, and the kind of summer worth driving for.
Rustlewood sits on the western shore of Planting Ground Lake, one of 28 lakes in the Three Lakes-Eagle River chain — the largest inland chain of lakes in the world. Eight cabins, a sandy beach, a private marina, and a thousand acres of clear northwoods water out the front door.
Bring your boat, or take out one of our rowboats. Spend the day fishing for muskies, swimming off the raft, or doing absolutely nothing at all. Around dusk, the loons start calling. By the time the fire burns down, you'll wonder how soon you can come back.
All cabins include access to the resort's shared spaces — designed for the kind of unhurried vacation a great cabin trip should be.
Protected dockage for guest boats, plus a t-dock for loading and unloading. Bring your own — or use one of our 14-foot rowboats.
A gentle, gradual-slope swimming beach with a swimming raft anchored offshore in season. Perfect for kids.

Rustlewood spreads along a sheltered stretch of Planting Ground Lake. Four of our eight cabins are part of the rental program; the others belong to long-time owners. Together, they make up the small, quiet community that's defined this resort for generations.
